- Concluded a US$700 million multi-year sales contract with an over the fence customer with geographical swap element;
- US$500 million multi-year sales contract with an Indian entity;
- US$140 million and US$100 million multi-year storage contracts with international storage providers
Negotiations
- Negotiated & concluded contracts with other international oil & petrochemical majors like Sinopec, Sinochem, Exxon, BP, Total, SABIC, Mitsubishi, Mitsui, Toyota, BASF, Bayer, LG, P&G, KAO, Lyondell, Vinmar, Petronas and Chevron;
Litigation
- Negotiated settlement within insurance limit on 3rd day of trial in an architect / professional engineer’s public liability insurance construction claim worth over S$26 million;
- Extended the principle of equitable receivership under O. 51 Rules of Court to wages in enforcement proceedings on behalf of Citibank N.A.
- Secured an acquittal for a client accused of physically abusing her domestic helper, after 10 days trial. (MCN 900274/2014)
- Secured an acquittal for client accused of CBT (Criminal Breach of Trust). (DAC 48902/2013)
- Acted for a leading bunker supplier in a complex interpleader action following the liquidation of O.W. Bunker (Singapore).
Bankruptcy
- Bankruptcy Act – One of the first to succeed in voluntary arrangement for the founder / director of ACS Innovation Pte Ltd a S$250 million turnover entity, which was put under judicial management and subsequently wound up
Crime
- Drafted Grounds of Appeal independently against a Senior Barrister’s unfavorable written opinion to persuade the Court of Appeal (London) to halve a 4½ years’ sentence of imprisonment.
- Successfully argued prosecution under the Offensive Weapons Act for the AG’s Chambers to reduce the charge.
- Secured an acquittal for client accused of CBT (Criminal Breach of Trust). (DAC 48902/2013)
- Successfully secured our client’s acquittal under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act, with the Court ruling there was no case to answer. Case underscored the urgent need for law reform to ensure acquitted individuals receive compensation for their legal costs, preventing undue financial burdens on those wrongfully prosecuted. Immigration/Employment
- Successfully argued settlement visa cases at Immigration Appeal Tribunal and constructive dismissal case at Employment Tribunal (UK).
Intellectual Property
- Successfully defended a prosecution under the Trade Marks Act and Copyright Act for the AG’s Chambers to move for DNATA even before defence was called
Matrimonial
- Represented several clients in multi-jurisdictional divorce matters involving difficult applications of both Shariah Law and Women’s Charter
